Movie nights are always good for relaxation and de-stressing. An old skool summer themed movie is the perfect way to end a day of fun after playing CornholeOnWater.

Released in June of 1975 this Spielberg thriller is the first ever summer blockbuster. It's the story of a group of guys getting together to try and find the shark that has been causing trouble for beach goers in the area. One of the most memorable aspects of the movie, is its score written by John Williams, for which it won one of its three Oscars for 'Best Original Dramatic Score'. The other two Oscars it received were for 'Best Sound' and 'Best Film Editing'.

Little Miss Sunshine

Released in 2006, Little Miss Sunshine is the story of the Hoovers taking a road trip of over 800 miles to get their daughter, Olive (played by Abigail Breslin), to a beauty contest in Redono Beach, California. The movie, listed as a comedy and a drama, has plenty of funny moments (and some more serious parts, too) along with some dark humor. Other big names in the movie are Steve Carrel and Greg Kinnear. The movie has many memorable moments, but the one that stands out the most would have to be the infamous 'Superfreak' scene, where the whole family joins Olive on stage to dance to the song.

The Sandlot

A classic summer movie that came out in 1993. Sandlot is about Scotty Smalls, moving to a new town. Scotty, who does not know much about baseball, causes him and his new friends to have to go on an adventure to rescue his dad's signed Babe Ruth (the greatest baseball player that ever lived) baseball from The Beast next door. It's a movie that's great for the whole family to sit down and enjoy together.

National Lampoon Vacation

Released in 1983, this film was the first in the National Lampoon Series. Clark Griswold, portrayed by Chevy Chase, is determined to have more bonding time with his family, so he takes them on a cross country road trip to Wally World, 'America's Favorite Family Fun Park'. If you've ever been on a road trip with family, you know that mishaps are bound to occur and the Griswolds are no exception. While the movie, being 32 years old, may seem a little dated, it's still a great classic and fun movie to watch.

After spending a day of playing CornholeOnWater and having fun at the beach, come home and relax with a bowl of popcorn and one of these awesome summer movies! Comment on your favorite summer themed movie?
