Next time you're playing CornholeOnWater, add some songs from this summer's playlist to set the atmosphere for the game!
All Summer Long - Kid Rock
Released in 2008, this song captures the laid back state of summer. The song immortalizes the feelings of spending time with special people in your life at the lake and celebrating the freedom of being away from civilization. The tune of the song is a mixture between Flamin' Groovies, Werewolves of London and Lynyrd Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama; the former of which is referenced throughout the song.
California Gurls - Katy Perry ft. Snoop Dogg
A summer anthem from 2010, this song has a bubbly tune that just gives you the feeling of relaxing and having a fun summer. 5 years later, the song is still a huge hit. Katy even performed it at the Super Bowl, introducing the world to the infamous "Left Shark."
Summer Nights - John Travolta and Olivia Newton John
Summer Nights is one of the first songs in the Grease movie and also one of the most memorable. It's a song about two people (Danny and Sandy) meeting at the beach on vacation and falling in love. Danny (Travolta) and Sandy (Newton-John) sing their love story to their friends. The song has a danceable upbeat temp to it. Released in 1978, the song is still highly popular, even making number nine on Billboard's list of the top summer songs of all time.
Ocean Avenue - YellowCard
Ocean Avenue was released in 2004 and is about the road in Jacksonville, Florida...which is wear the band hails from. This is another song about immortalizing the feelings of summer and the past. The actual name of the road is Ocean Blvd. and was changed to Avenue for rhyming purposes. If you're ever in Jacksonville, visit and take a picture with your CornholeOnWater set!!
